“Islands as Abodes of the Divine” International Cultural Art Project
The Sacred Island of Okinoshima and associated sites in the Munakawa region, located north of Kyushu and inscribed in the World Heritage List in 2017, provides the stage for this international project that bridges culture, art, and the environment under the theme “Respect for the sea and coexistence with it,” the basis of worship of “islands as abodes of the divine.”
