Miyazaki Kagura Fukuoka Performance 2019: Takachiho Yokagura Performance
Ritual Shinto dances (Kagura) have been performed in Miyazaki Prefecture for over 800 years. The dances express gratitude for a bountiful harvest and pray that the sun and warmth will return in spring. One dance is from the original Takachiho Yokagura repertoire, which is usually performed through the night (yokagura).
