THE ELEGANCE OF NOH WORLD Noh masks collection of the feudal lord family Mizoguchi in the Edo period

Noh is a classical theater art that represents Japanese culture. Noh masks, representing a rich variety of characters, is an important component forming the art of Noh together with Noh songs. In this exhibition a collection of 67 Noh masks formerly owned by the Mizoguchi family which used to rule the Shibata domain of Echigo province will be shown for the first time. The collection remains miraculously vomplete with all the accompanying items including bags for the precious masks and the cabinet to store them. Take your time on a pleasant autumn day to appreciate those masks in the treasured collection of the feudal lord family. Other art  works and boooks related to Noh shown together with the masks will help you further enjoy the charm of Noh.
