Special exhibition: JOMON 2021 -Jomon people who lived in Tokyo-
'This exhibition will recreate the "Jomon people who lived in Tokyo" based on the latest research. The Jomon period was a time of development and coexistence with nature, with the appearance of large shell mounds on the seashore due to improved technology for processing marine products like shellfish, and the emergence of ring-shaped settlements on hillsides thanks to the technological development in plant use. Using reproductions of living spaces and explanations of excavated artifacts, this exhibition will allow visitors to rediscover the "heart" of the Jomon people, who both respected and feared the diversity of nature. It uses models, images, and illustrations to provide easy-to-understand explanations for children, students, and non-Japanese speakers. Models of living spaces and tools let visitors experience the lifestyle of the Jomon people.
