Understanding all the various scrolls, manuscripts, and printed books on any subject produced in Japan before modernization as constituting a unified corpus of “Premodern Japanese Texts”, this project shows “Premodern Japanese Texts” are the great culture resource enabling new artistic and cultural value creation for even in the modern age through an exhibition of newly-created works inspired by “Premodern Japanese Texts” like novel, animation, play, Japanese painting, modern art, translation, diorama and visual design.
