Autumn 2020 Feature Exhibition 12th Photo Contest: Tree of Asuka

Today, Asuka Village has a vast forest that occupies about 65% of the village area. And the place names with the tree names are still scattered in the village. In addition, the ancient history book "Nihon Shoki" records that in this area, there were some facilities named after the tree during the Asuka period 1400 years ago. From those, we can feel the connection between Asuka's history and trees. This photo contest will widely solicit photos of trees in Asuka that make us feel the history of Asuka and the activities of people and will exhibit the entries at our museum. We will convey the depth of Japanese history and culture through photos of "trees" that evoke the charm of Asuka and give you a sense of history.
