This program offers Bunraku newcomers the opportunity to discover the appeal of the traditional Japanese puppet theater through easy-to-understand guidance and performances of classic plays. This edition of Discover BUNRAKU will present Gojobashi (The Gojo Bridge), which depicts the encounter between Ushiwakamaru and Benkei, and Sanjusangendo Munagi no Yurai (The Ridgepole of the Sanjusangendo Temple), which features a touching farewell scene between the spirit of a willow and her human husband and child.
