MAT, which is holding its ninth session this year, is a showcase of experimental approaches to implementing the latest in technology culture in urban environments. The project consists of various works of art, videos, music, performances and talks concentrated mainly in Roppongi, featuring innovators and companies in various fields from both Japan and abroard. MAT organically incorporates this diverse program throughout the city, establishing its status as a unifying body bringing disparate cultural elements together. In 2021 and beyond, as our methods of transportation and communication and urban information systems continue to transform, MAT aims to be a festival for technological art with the power to shape the future, showcasing to the world, from Tokyo, the possibilities of technology.
