Special Exhibition - Colorful Paper: The World of Ryoshi Decoration
This exhibition displays colorful paper made from ryoshi, a type of paper generally used for calligraphy but also used for painting. Valuable works, from the Preface to Kokin Wakashu (a National Treasure) to the Edo-period genre of painting known as Otsu-e and an elaborate reproduction of Heike Nokyo (Taira Family Sutras) by Tanaka Shinbi will be exhibited along with magnified microscope images.
