The Tokaido Road and the Travel
The Tokaido Road that was arranged by Edo Shogunate government played an important role in the field of political economy, etc. The scenic beauty along the Road was described in the paints such as "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido" drawn by the first Hiroshige, etc. that have attracted many people. Nishiki-e (colored woodblock prints) such as "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido" introducing the scenes of Tokaido Road in the Edo and Meiji Era, and the materials related to the roads in Edo Era stored in Postal Museum Japan are displayed in this exhibition.
