OOZAWA KOUMIN, a Toyama metalwork craftsman and one of Japan's Living National Treasures, will hold a large-scale retrospective exhibition to commemorate his Kasaju (80 years old) this fall. In addition to enjoying the sophisticated works Oozawa creates with his unique casting techniques, you will also be intrigued by the charms and the creative possibilities of Japanese metalworking. We will be showcasing Oozawa's new pieces specifically made for this exhibition as well as works related to Takaoka-Mikurumayama (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, National Tangible and Intangible Folk Cultural Property) and works exhibiting the advanced techniques and traditional artisanship of the Japanese craft.
