Beyond Sight Yutaka Hatta Exhibition

Yutaka Hatta(1930-), born in Fukui prefecture, started his career in 1950s. He has been highly regarded for his avant-garde art works in which engraved geometric pattern on pulp boards or aluminium plates. After having lost sight in 80s, he began to create his works by listening to the dripping sound of acrylic colors. Furthermore, he uses Echizen-Washi(Japanese paper products in Fukui Prefecture)and Kozo(Paper mulberry, the material for making Japanese Paper)to create his unique works by tactile sense. This exhibition aims to look back on his artistic career and to introduce his 90 years  indomitable life.
