The Emperors in the Edo Period

Illustrated scrolls, court nobles’ diaries, and the like introduce the relationship of warlord rulers Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, with the emperor and court in Kyoto. The exhibition also deals with the restoration of court ceremonies, the changing of eras and selection of new era names during the Tokugawa period, and other topics.
