Kumi odori—a comprehensive performing art comprised of several elements of traditional performing arts in Okinawa—was created based on Okinawa’s view of nature while at the same time being influenced by other performing arts. In order to introduce Kumi odori’s charms to a wider audience, including those who are not familiar with it and overseas visitors, we offer an array of services such as free audio guides and brief explanations of the art at the beginning of the show. Furthermore, a series of lectures will be held, tackling several topics such as the history and environment of Shurijo Castle and the Ryukyu performing arts. Also featuring a reproduction of the fireworks devices that were used at Shurijo Castle.
