MORIGUCHI Kunihiko: Yuzen / Design – Crossroads of Creativity
A retrospective of a master of yuzen (resist dyeing) technique and officially-recognized Living National Treasure, Moriguchi Kunihiko, examining the relationship of nature and the Japanese using the kimono as a cypher. Moriguch's designs, incorporating disparate elements from traditional and modern ideas and Eastern and Western ideals, begin with geometry, creating a harmony between nature and space in accordance with the natural tradition of yuzen. This exhibition serves as a door to the world of Moriguchi.
