Media Ambition Tokyo (MAT), now in its eighth year, takes an experimental approach to integrating the latest technology and culture into real urban environments. The project comprises art installations, audiovisual entertainment, and forums organized across a number of sites in Tokyo, including Roppongi, Shibuya, Ginza, Toranomon, and Odaiba. Through the participation of innovative individuals and corporations both from within and beyond Japan, the program continues to expand throughout the city under a single robust conceptual framework. In 2020 and beyond, as urban transportation, communication, and informational ecosystems undergo dramatic changes, MAT aims to be a festival of technology and art with the power to shape the future and deliver ideas from Tokyo to the world.
