Kabuki performance of ”Renjishi” (Lion Dance) as complement to Rugby World Cup 2019

Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theater that has been performed continuously, incorporating entertainment, culture, and trends, since its roots over 400 years ago. This performance of the Kabuki program “Renjishi” was held for officials and others from countries participating in the Rugby World Cup 2019, the Rugby World Cup mascots “Ren-G” having their origins in “Renjishi.” It was part of a project for disseminating the “beauty of Japan" inside and outside of Japan.
