Traditional Japanese Music Performances

This series, designed for enjoyment even by those unfamiliar with traditional Japanese music (hogaku), introduces the diversity of the shamisen in June, stages introductory performances in July, introduces ukiyo-e artists Hokusai and Hiroshige’s landscapes with hogaku background music in September and October, and stages Nagauta and Sankyoku performances in January.
