To commemorate the holding of the Special Exhibition “The Thirty-Six Immortal Poets: Elegant Arts of the Classical Japanese Court,” the Kyoto National Museum will hold a fashion show featuring the twelve-layered ceremonial kimono ( junihitoe) worn by court ladies in ancient times. The famed female poets depicted in the scrolls come alive on the runway.
