Toga Art Park of Toyama Prefecture

Toga Art Park in Toyama Prefecture is a performing arts facility boasting six theaters, including a gassho-zukuri theatre and outdoor amphitheatre, as well as rehearsal spaces and lodgings. It serves as the operational base for the internationally renowned theater group SCOT (Suzuki Company of Toga), led by Tadashi Suzuki. It is often referred to as the "Mecca of Theatre." In 2019, it was a venue for the international performing arts festival "The 9th Theatre Olympics." co-hosted with Russia. Every year, from August to September, the park hosts the international theater festival "SCOT Summer Season."

SCOT Summer Season 2023 is coming to Toga Art Park with three productions directed by Tadashi Suzuki. In addition to Suzuki (Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture), other luminaries like Satoshi Miyagi (Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), Oriza Hirata (Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture), and Makoto Nakashima (Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture) will also perform works created in their respective regions. These performances are part of Momotaro no Kai, a group established last year to create collaborative projects with the next generation of Japanese theater artists. This year's program also features a work by an Indonesian theater artist as a special participant.
The works from Shizuoka, Toyooka, and Tottori will also be presented at regional theater festivals after SCOT Summer Season 2023.
