Priest Shinkyo 700th Memorial Special Exhibition “Art of the Ji Shu: A New Sect of Buddhism in the Kamakura Period”

The year 2019 marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Priest Shinkyo (1237–1319), the second in the lineage following Ji School founder Ippen (1234-1289). On this occasion, Kyoto National Museum brings together under one roof the great treasures of Ji Shu in a memorial exhibition.
