3 Must-Try Museum Cafés for Matcha Lovers

One of the highlights when visiting museums is their cafés; they add an extra charm to the whole museum experience, don't you think?
Today, I'm excited to share three exceptional matcha menus that you shouldn't miss at museum cafés, highly recommended for our international visitors!
Tokyo National Museum
First, we try the coffee stand located next to the Japanese Gallery of the Tokyo National Museum, the museum with the longest history in Japan. The must-try item here is the Matcha Milk! Don't miss out on other matcha-based sweets like Matcha-Monaka Ice Cream.


TOKYO NATIONAL MUSEUM

Yamatane Museum of Art
Located in Hiroo, Tokyo, the Yamatane Museum of Art specializes in Japanese paintings. Here, you can enjoy matcha along with beautifully crafted original wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) that echos the themes of the exhibited artworks. After immersing yourself in the art, be sure to give it a try!

MOA Museum of Art
About a 40-minute ride on the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo, you'll find the MOA Museum of Art in Atami. Set amidst the renowned hot spring area of Atami, this museum offers a haven where you can appreciate stunning artworks while immersing yourself in Japanese culture. Try savoring matcha chiffon cake and ice cream at “the café “while gazing at the beautiful scenery!
