Experience Edo-Period Life at Yuwaku Edo Village in Kanazawa
Inside the Matsushita residence
Yuwaku Edo Village, located in the mountainous Yamazato area of southeast Kanazawa, is a collection of Edo-period (1603–1867) houses from Ishikawa and around. The well-preserved homes of farmers, samurai, and merchants were relocated here, from their original locations, to create an immersive historical experience.
One such residence belonged to the Matsushita family, who were seed wholesalers. Experience a day in the life of a member of the Matsushita family, from daily business dealings to cleaning the shop and making lunch.
