Enjoy a fusion of art and architecture at the Nagi Museum of Contemporary Art (Nagi MOCA). The museum comprises three separate exhibition spaces representing the sun, moon, and earth, and was designed as a collaborative project by internationally renowned architect Isozaki Arata and artists Arakawa Shusaku and Madeline Gins, Okazaki Kazuo, and Miyawaki Aiko. The concept for the museum is the semi-permanent integration of art and architecture. Nagi MOCA is a site-specific art museum designed to compliment the township of Nagi and its surrounding natural environment. It is celebrated as a leading example of a site-specific art space and is featured in The Art Lover's Guide to Japanese Museums by French art historian Sophie Richard.
